In cases of records pertaining to individuals other than elected officials, what recourse do I have if my request for copies or inspection is denied?

To obtain a marriage license both parties must appear together, in person, to obtain the official marriage license. The license will be completed by both parties in our office. Applications are not accepted by mail.

The Oregon marriage application process is easy. From Multnomah County in the Northeast Portland area, to Clackamas County in Southeast Portland, to Washington County in Portland’s west hills and Yamhill County south of Portland, each Oregon County Clerk’s office will make the marriage application process seamless, from start to finish.

The Clackamas County Health Department maintains certified copies and abstracts of birth and death events, which are available for up to six months after the event. There is a fee for this service. Call 558-797-5855 for more information. There may be restrictions regarding some records.
